Two Great Cities

 One Built By Christ

One Built By ManTower of Babel

So God starts teaching mankind, just after the flood, just after the last judgment of mankind upon the beginning of a new dispensation, after the basic historical beginnings, after judgment by water, the flood, with the

Tower Of Babel

which was the first city later name changing to the city Babylon, becoming later the country Babylon, later called out by Jeremiah in the the mysterious cryptogram names Sheshach or Leb Kamai, by becoming a mystery to many of those living in Chaldea or Babylonia, unable to make heads or tails of it, Jeremiah 51:1, and finally she is seen in the book of Revelation by the Apostle John with an ugly  tattoo carved on her forehead which states Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother of Prostitutes And Of The Abominations Of The Earth, by analyzing these other passages in Genesis chapter 11 the reader receives illumination as to actually [who] Babylon the Great [is], also as to [what] type of personality flaws she [acts like] and what her historical role will [be] at the Time of the End during the last generation after fulfillment of the Fig Tree Prophecy. Let us break these lessons down into easier to understand groups so Holy Spirit can reveal more to us.

Chapter 11 Genesis

1.)  Who Babylon is

2.)  What character traits Babylon has

3.)  What will be Babylon’s role in the Time of the End; Last Generation ?

4.) What lessons from Abraham’s life in chapter eleven can we draw on during these struggling times in this last generation?

But before we discuss we must first read the passage in chapter 11

 Here it is.

  Genesis 11:1-32 NIV

Now the whole world had one language and a common speech. 2 As men moved eastward, they found a plain in Shinar and settled there.

3 They said to each other, “Come, let’s make bricks and bake them thoroughly.”  They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar. 4 Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered over the face of the whole earth.”

5 But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower the men were building.  6 The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. 7 Come let us

go down and confuse their language so that they will not understand each other.”

8 So the Lord scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city. 9 That is why it was called Babel—because there the Lord confused the language of the whole world.  From there the Lord scattered them over the face of the whole earth.

From the Flood to Abraham

10 This is the account of Shem.  Two years after the flood, when Shem was 100 years old, he became the father of Arphaxad. 11 And after he became the father of Arphaxad, Shem lived 500 years and had other sons and daughters.

12 When Arphaxad had lived 35 years, he became the father of Shelah. 13 And after he became the father of Shelah, Arphaxad lived 403 years and had other sons and daughters.

14 When Shelah had lived 30 years, he became the father of Eber. 15 And after he had become the father of Eber, Shelah lived 403 years and had other sons and daughters.

16 When Eber had lived 34 years, he became the father of Peleg, 17 And after he had become the father of Peleg, Eber lived 430 years a

nd had other sons and daughters.

18 When Peleg had lived 30 years, he became the father of Reu. 19 And after he became the father of Reu,  Peleg lived 209 years and had other sons and daughters.

20 When Reu had lived 32 years, he became the father of Serug. 21 And after he became the father of Serug, Reu lived 207 years and had other sons and daughters.

22 When Serug had lived 30 years, he became the father of Nahor. 23 And after he became the father of Nahor, Serug lived 200 years and had other sons and daughters.

24 When Nahor had lived 29 years, he became the father of Terah. 25 And after he became the father of Terah Nahor lived 119 years and had other sons and daughters.

26 After Terah had lived 70 years, he became the father of Abram, Nahor and Haran.

27 This is the account of Terah.

Terah became the father of Abram, Nahor and Haran.  And Haran became the father of Lot. 28 While his father Terah was still alive, Haran died in Ur of the Chaldeans, in the land of his birth. 29 Abram and Nahor both married.  The name of Abram’s w

ife was Sarai, and the name of Nahor’s wife was Milcah; she was the daughter of Haran, the father of both Milcah and Iscah. 30 Now Sarai was barren; she had no children.

31 Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, the wife of his son Abram, and together they set out from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to Canaan.  But when they came to Haran, they settled there.  32 Terah lived 205 years, and he died in Haran.

Since the same scripture that records the beginnings of Babylon also covers Abram’s beginning.  So let’s study the beginnings of Abram also.  Abram was born 292 years after God judged the world by water, the flood judgment., born 58 years before the death of Noah.  Noah lived 350 years after the flood, Genesis 9:28.  We know this by adding the years up that I highlighted above from NIV Genesis chapter 11.  This is important to know to understand how young the world was after the flood so we can keep things in perspective.  We can also use this info to get an idea of about when Nimrod walked the earth versus when Abraham did.  Now it is also significant to the seventy year prophecy that Abram and his two brothers, Nahor and Haran, triplets were born in a time of great birth pains, triplets, and God provided a prophet , Abram born, after 70 years & huge birth pains because triplets.  Then after Abram was 5 years old, past the age of innocence, 70 years later God goes down to meet Abra

300px-MARTIN_John_Great_Day_of_His_Wrath[1]

m changing Abram, repeating the same prophecy, redeeming him into the new man God intended with a new name given, Abraham.  This is significant in understanding the seventy year prophecy, that God will come down at the end of seventy years and redeem us, dividing us from evil ones, changing us into new creatures, into the ones He originally intended. It is always seventy and then God goes to meet man, to divide man into groups.  We see this all over the bible, even in the very beginning.  Some would say this means the number 70 is a holy number or something like that.  I think they are missing the point. God is showing us what will happen before it happens if we are willing to learn His words.  This is the 70 year prophecy that repeats itself all over the bible.

Nimrod Built Babylon

The bible states that Nimrod son of Cush, whether or not actual son or grandson we do not know, was a traveling great warrior hunter city building king that planned and built the cities Babylon, Erech, Akkad,Calneh, Shinar,  Rehoboth Ir, Calah, Ninevah, and Resen, the great city located between Ninevah and Calah, Genesis 10:6-20.  First let’s read the passage.  There are many theologians who also believe Nimrod built Sodom & Gomorrah and was also responsible for building Assyria since he built the major cities of Assyria.  The bible gives us no indication of the years Nimrod walked the earth, how long he lived.  It seems with all the different major cities he ruled he lived a long time and some of the people back then did live long.

Genesis 10:6-20 NIV

The Hamites

6 The sons of Ham:  Cush, Mizraim, Put and Canaan. 7 The sons of Cush:  Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah and and Sabteca.  The sons of Raamah:  Sheba and Dedan.

8 Cush was the father of Nimrod, who grew to be a mighty warrior on the earth. 9 He was a mighty hunter before the Lord; that is why it is said, “Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before the Lord.”

10 The first centers of his kingdom were Babylon, Erech, Akkad and Calneh,  in Shinar. 11 From that land he went to Assyria, where he built Ninevah, Rehoboth Ir, Calah and Resen, which is between Ninevah and Calah; that is the great city.

13 Mizraim was the father of the Ludites, Anamites, Lehabites, Naphtuhites, 14 Pathrusites, Casluhites (from whom the Philistines came) and Caphtorhites.

15 Canaan was the father of Sidon his firstborn, and of the Hittites, 16 Jebusites, Amorites, Girgashites, 17 Hivites, Arkites, Sinites, 18 Arvadites, Zemarites and Hamathites.

Later the Canaanite clans scattered 19 and the borders of Canaan reached from Sidon toward Gerar as far as Gaza, and then toward Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha.

20 These are the sons of Ham by their clans and languages, in their territories and nations.

There was a period of only 292 years from the flood until the birth of Abram!

Who Babylon is

1.)Who Babylon is

Definitions that illuminate

Tower of Babel-[Both] a tower and city built by the small amount of people on the earth at that time compared to today, Genesis 11:8.  Since Abram was born 292 years after the flood this tower [city] must have been built long enough after the flood for people to accumulate to form a small city but before Abram was born.  My guess is that this tower [city] was built around 150 -200 years after the flood. The name was given to it after God scattered and confused into many languages.  Babel is an Aramaic word that means Confusion according to Strong’s Hebrew & Aramaic dictionary.  So Tower of Babel actually means Tower Of Confusion.  Babylon means city City of Confusion, when used as a city, Country of Confusion,  when used as a country and Empire of Confusion when referring to the empire Babylon.  All three of these linguistic uses were used interchangeably with these meanings.  The word Babylonia was used to mean empire in a general term or countryside; outside the city of Babylon.

Tradition with scriptural support is that Nimrod was a Mighty Traveling Hunter–Builder King of this, Genesis 10:10.  This means he must have been not only highly skilled in conquering by force, thus Hunter for the Lord, but Nimrod also had something that was popular and easily communicated and spread to the masses. What I believe he spread was an overtly materialistic freedom, justice and bureaucracy with taxation.  His first centers Babylon, Erech, Akkad and Calneh, in Shinar. From that land he went to Assyria, where he built Ninevah, Rehoboth Ir, Calah and Resen, which is between Ninevah and Calah; that is the great city.

But there are some extrabiblical sources that although not biblical they are historical.  Just because they are historical that does not mean they are accurate.  Many things are historical but highly inaccurate.  Never the less though we must consider these in our studies of Nimrod.

Kitab al-Magall or Book of Rolls

An early Apocryphal Christian Arabic work of unknown date written but estimated to be somewhere around 800 AD to 1150 AD known as Kitab al-Magall or the Book of Rolls, (Clementine literature), states Nimrod began his reign as king over earth when Reu was 163, This would be 294 years after the flood if true considering Genesis chapter 11 biblical chronology. The bible it seems contradicts this. This would mean Nimrod did not build Babel since Babel had to be before the birth of Abram which was 292 years post flood.  This extra-biblical literature is not stating Nimrod did not build Babylon which is what Genesis chapter 10 clearly states.  This literature is in Aramaic written by Christians before being scattered and killed by Islamic warriors.  It is thought these go all the way back to the Judaiser movement before Paul snuffed the movement out with the Pauline Epistles. These books are in the public domain and can be read at this link: http://www.sacred-texts.com/chr/aa/aa2.htm  Other things these works state are interesting indeed; The beginning of his kingdom was from Babel. Nimrod  was a giant, who saw a vision in the sky of some black cloth and a crown. He called his weaver commanding him to make him a crown like it.  He put jewels on it wearing it.  Thus he was the first king that wore a crown.  He traveled all over the middle east building cities.  Some cities named were similar and some different then the ones in Genesis chapter 10.

Another extra-biblical historical text has similar interesting things on Nimrod

Cave of Treasures

The dating of this book is also unknown but we know for sure there was at one time a copy in Greek.  This is proved but statements given by Epiphanius, Bishop of Salamis in Cyprus [born A.D. 320] The author of the “Cave of Treasures” was concerned with genealogies.  He rejected genealogical tables which were used by fellow-Christians convinced all post exile genealogies Jews possessed were destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar’s army immediately after the capture of Jerusalem. calling his work “The Book of the order of the succession of Generations [families],” of Patriarchs, Israel and Judah kings. His goal to show how Christ was descended from Adam.

The Syriac Cave of Treasures (ca. 350) has account of Nimrod similar to Kitab al-Magall, except that Nisibis, Edessa and Harran are said to be built by Nimrod when Reu was 50, and that he began his reign as the first king when Reu was 130, This would be 261 years after the flood or 31 years before the birth of Abram,  If true considering Genesis chapter 11 biblical chronology. This work is also in the public domain and can be read at this link:http://www.sacred-texts.com/chr/bct/bct03.htm

Josephus the Jewish historian & high ranking pharisee had some very interesting things he stated about Nimrod.  Here they are.

Josephus

The Antiquities of the JewsTranslated by Whiston

Chapter 4

Concerning the Tower of Babylon

And the Confusion of Tongues

2. Now it was Nimrod who excited them to such an affront and contempt of God. He was the grandson of Ham, the son of Noah, a bold man, and of great strength of hand. He persuaded them not to ascribe it to God, as if it were through his means they were happy, but to believe that it was their own courage which procured that happiness. He also gradually changed the government into tyranny, seeing no other way of turning men from the fear of God, but to bring them into a constant dependence on his power Now the multitude were very ready to follow the determination of Nimrod, and to esteem it a piece of cowardice to submit to God; and they built a tower, neither sparing any pains, nor being in any degree negligent about the work: and, by reason of the multitude of hands employed in it, it grew very high, sooner than any one could expect; but the thickness of it was so great, and it was so strongly built, that thereby its great height seemed, upon the view, to be less than it really was. It was built of burnt brick, cemented together with mortar, made of bitumen, that it might not be liable to admit water. When God saw that they acted so madly, he did not resolve to destroy them utterly, since they were not grown wiser by the destruction of the former sinners; but he caused a tumult among them, by producing in them diverse languages, and causing that, through the multitude of those languages, they should not be able to understand one another. The place wherein they built the tower is now called Babylon, because of the confusion of that language which they readily understood before; for the Hebrews mean by the word Babel, confusion

Since some extra-biblical historians believe Hammurabi was Nimrod they completely ignored scripture that clearly states Nimrod built Babylon in addition to most major cities at that time, Genesis 10:7,  ignoring accepted Babylonian history that  Hammurabi was the sixth king. And we must consider something else.  The other cities built by the Hammites would have also been greatly influenced by Nimrod’s skill as a citybuildingking.  The evidence is scarce and incomplete theory with only circumstantial evidence at best.  Other theologians think Nimrod was Hammurabi, since both were city building kings of similar cities in similar areas, but the main reason is that the name Hammurabi could be interpreted Ham the Great.  One thing to keep in mind is by the term city building king
I am not saying Nimrod had a group of builders traveling to different parts in Mesopotamia and building cities from scratch.  What he had was something everyone wanted, and one thing they do not want is a tyrant.  I know everyone teaches he was a successful tyrant but I do not believe the scriptures teach this. He went from city to city and the next city would not have allowed him to become king because of what they heard he did at the prior city.  Each city allowed him to set up his form of government that allowed, even encouraged the worship of false gods, many god’s, each allowed to worship their own particular god.
A successful tyrant has to kill people and take away property from people by force, take people’s wives and children eccetra….If Nimrod had done these types of things I believe Moses would have recorded these evil works, Moses didn’t though because Nimrod was no more a tyrant then Saul was a tyrant as the first king of Israel. This something was not a skill as a tyrant or person that takes freedom from people groups or other countries.  Nimrod’s skill was the same thing you see his grandson Hammurabi, many theologians think, wrote down & planned the Hammurabi code, first organized form of Judicial Justice, Bureaucracy and taxation for the better whole, governmental institutions, sense of right and wrong, freedom, eye for eye justice, organization of institution of trades, and all this based upon atheism, materialism, idol and image worship of stones and wood that do not talk, and anything that teaches people they do not have to be afraid of God, do not have to be afraid of God judging by drowning again.  For Nimrod was building a tower that would be higher then any mountain, above any amount of water sent by God, so they thought.  And this was the name Nimrod was trying to make for himself in every city.  Scryptically Nimrod was Ham (the son of Noah) grandson they say, Genesis 10:8. But this could mean Cush was an ancestor of Nimrod
kind of like Christ called the son of David.  Curiously Nimrod isn’t even named in verse 7 as a son of Cush, although verse 8 states he is the son of Cush.  One has but wonder why he wasn’t added in the group.  Maybe the group is kind of like a family picture so to speak and Cush was ashamed of the way his son acted and sinned, so didn’t consider Nimrod “his” son.  But some people lived a long time then and Nimrod could have been a son of a concubine in which Nimrod was not considered his son even though he really was, kind of like Isaac was considered the only son of Abraham even though he had another son named Ishmael, from Hagar.  With no scriptural clarity provided we do not know really and must use other evidence we can find.

Others argue since Hammurabi lived about the same time, and reigning at the same they are the same person. Historians state Hammurabi’s reign of 42 years versus the 45 years of Nimrod recorded in the book of Jasher, 1792-1750 BC as pretty darn close.  But unfortunately Jasher, though inspired of G-d is not considered cannon.  So opinions vary on when Hammurabi lived, dates of his reign, and his relation to Nimrod. Most historians believe Hammurabi began his rule of Babylon in 1792 B.C. and ended in 1750 B.C. Hammurabi was the sixth king over the city of Babylon, but once he defeated Sumer, Akkad, and other city-states to the south of Babylon around 1760 B.C.  This means Hammurabi could not be the Nimrod in scripture, Genesis 10:8, but was in all probability a descendant of Nimrod, a grandson maybe, thus his being called “Ham the Great.”

Nimrod et al were building the tower to glorify themselves above God, Genesis 11:4.  People were scared to go down into the valleys at that time.  God had just drowned everyone in the world by water and here was a king building a city tower very high, very wide, to overcome this fear, so God couldn’t judge them again. The world spoke one language at that time and they were too intelligent for their own good.

The Nimrod followers excelled in the crafts, trades & schools, Revelation 18:22, superior institutions, judiciary, barter & markets, masonry, engineering principals, technology & politics but lacked greatly in Godly wisdom of distinguishing good from evil, Genesis 11:6.  So God confused their languages and separated them into different groups of people that spoke different languages.  Probably each group had special skills they excelled at that other groups did not have.  Nebuchadnezzar's Image, Daniel 2:29-49 The masons were separated from the engineers, the mechanics from the carpenters and the artists from the warriors. This way knowledge could not build on knowledge.  This is why when they all spoke the same language they were smarter in the trades and artistic crafts. They were building the tower to glorify themselves above God, Genesis 11:4.  The world spoke one language at that time and they were too intelligent for their own good.  They excelled in the crafts and trades but lacked greatly in godly wisdom of distinguishing good from evil, Genesis 11:6.  So God confused their languages and separated them into different groups of people that spoke different languages.  Probably each group had special skills they excelled at that other groups did not have.  This is why when they all spoke the same language they were smarter in the trades and artistic crafts.

Chaldeans–Also known as Babylonia or Babylon outside the city of Babylon–The countryside of Babylon, the empire.

City of Babylon–An indestructible city that grew from the same location as the Tower of Babel that was part of many decisive battles and ruled by many kings from different lands.  Each time it fell it arose many times more magnificent then prior.  Situated near the Eurphrates, with 50 miles south of Bagdad, in modern day Iraq.

Country of Babylon (Empire)–Also called Babylonia.  In the golden age of empire under Hammurabi, 1704-1662, the empire stretched from the Persian Gulf all the way to the middle Eurphrates to the upper Tigris regions.

Legs & Thighs of Iron; Feet Partly Iron Partly Clay–Holy Roman Empire Babylon, Christianity to split of Roman Cathlocism & Protestantism [thighs &legs],  Feet of mixed iron and clay –Old America to New America–Babylon the Great, The clay being Islam & Nonchristians [Clay &iron  impurities]

The main point of this interpretation is that Babylon never ceases until judgment day which is scriptural, Daniel 2:37-38;  and we see Babylon the Great in the book of Revelation, Chapter 17 & 18. Day of the Lord when the rock not carved out of man’s hands but from a mountain is thrown at the feet causing all to fall–the rock is Jesus Christ and the mountain is the city he built, New Jerusalem.  This breaking up of everything, all the statue with the head of gold is actually Christ returning during Armageddon in the Valley of Megiddo.

Daniel 2:43 NIV

43 And just as you saw the iron mixed with baked clay, so the people will be a mixture and will not remain united, anymore then iron mixes with clay.

The last Babylonian kingdom is America, Babylon The Great , mixed iron and clay feet.  America is a mixture, a melting pot of people, also a melting pot of religions, so we are divided, clay and iron.  The Christians and Christianity are the iron, the clay are the peoples and religions we allow to mix and immigrate to our countries and marry our children that do not follow Christ.  Assyria is not one because her entrance onto the world scene was before Nebuchadnezzar who was the first because Daniel stated the first empire was the head of gold which was Nebuchadnezzar, Daniel 2:38And Babylon will rule the earth wherever people live, an empire until the time of the end, Daniel 2:38.

If the primary lesson God is teaching mankind through the bible and the words he breathed through the many prophets is God’s Savior Jesus Christ then the secondary lesson God is teaching mankind is man’s inability to build cities that uplift the soul so man gets closer to God.  This problem of city building is throughout the bible in every single book and every single passage.  To not understand this problem of city building that man has is to not understand the bible at all.  And the final man built city is America, Babylon the Great, Mother of Prostitutes and the Abominations Of the Earth.  After God brings judgment to this city, the world goes through the last worst seven year period of tribulation judgment.  Then God brings a city built by Jesus Christ himself a perfect city that does encourage man’s spirit toward God.  And this city will be shape like a life giving mountain which is measured 1400 miles by 1400 miles by 1400 miles.

God confuses their languages and scatters them throughout the earth.  Then in the book of Revelation, the end of mankind during the day of the Lord, a great city nation by the name of Babylon the Great is again an important event on the Lord’s Day.

Isn’t this peculiar?  Don’t you people see a connection here?  Wake Up, Wake Up people!  He’s coming and Babylon the Great is America, The Great City of iron & clay!  Read Revelation chapter 17 & 18.  Quit putting your alarm on snooze!  God states to those in Babylon the Great, America to Wake Up!  Wake Up!  Come out, Come out, Or hit the snooze, drink & sleep forever.

God started with Tower of Babel, and will end mankind’s lesson with the fall of Babylon the Great, America in one day, one hour, mankind’s judgment and the city New Jerusalem coming down out of heaven, Revelation chapter 21, for the Christ followers to dwell with heavenly beings.  This was the first event after the flood or judgment by water.  Everyone knows the 2nd judgment is by fire.Narrow Road Storm

America is doing the opposite.  We are bringing all people to America, causing them to all speak one language, America is the Mother of Prostitutes, Babylon the Great, Abominations Of The Earth, Hollywood.

Do you know the city,  New Jerusalem, is 1400 miles wide by 1400 miles long at a height of 1400 miles, shaped like a mountain, like a pyramid.  Many say cube but this is an incorrect interpretation.  Moses nor Christ climbed a cube to meet God but climbed a mountain.  Revelation chapter 21:16.  This is the city~Godbuilt, John 14:1-4.  When you factor in the height of this city it is a much greater size then America!  For it is not America that will be given the ability to cover the earth with cities but the Saints of the Most High, Daniel 7:18.  If you do not factor in the height of New Jerusalem is 1,960,000 square miles versus Babylon the Great’s 3,474,910 square miles. But the saints of the Most High will receive the keys to the kingdom, Daniel 7:18.

Don’t you see people, America is the best city man can build, this is the city~man built.  This city will be the last nation, last city, on earth judged by God, just before judgment of all mankind, because it is The Great City, Babylon The Great, built by man.  This is the best man can do.

So which mountain are you climbing, the mountain man built, the great city Babylonia America or the mountain Christ built, the great city New Jerusalem?

I do not understand why other people cannot see this.

I am a prolific writer and interpreter of biblical prophecy for today's generations of Christians. I also am a witness of God's soon coming judgment of the city of man, the best man could build, Babylon the Great, now known to be America, that will fall in one day, one hour as breathed through the Evangelist Apostle John, clearly described Revelation 18:1-24. I also am witness to the Beast rising in the Middle East known as Islam, whom the Antichrist will rise through, as a Beast Man, known as the 12th Mahdi, will usher in uncontrolled world nuclear proliferation as clearly described by the prophet Joel 2:1-11, breathed through John the Apostle in Revelation 9:13-21, but one of the three unholy trinity kings Beasts, two of which are men, that emerge just east of the Euphrates River, where Islam rules, also where the four Fallen Angels were released that were bound at this same Euphrates River, Revelation 9:13-21, whom were responsible for the plagues of fire, smoke and sulfur that kills 1/3rd of mankind. We witnesses that support this ministry, drinking at this trough, are not prophets, but witnesses pointing to God's truth in the love letter he wrote for all mankind to see.
